The Proposal
Riverside House currently serves as the headquarters for Warwick District Council who are relocating to the Town Centre. Homes England are purchasing Riverside House to redevelop for new housing.
Alongside the redevelopment of Riverside House, the Council also has an ongoing strategy to improve accessibility to greenspace and improve sports facilities. To help achieve this, the Council are seeking to relocate Edmonscote Athletics track with a new facility. This presents an opportunity for the creation of improved park facilities across the existing athletics track and Elizabeth Park.
The developments have the potential to deliver:
106 homes including 40% affordable
A carbon neutral development
A new and improved park for Leamington Spa
The Site
Riverside House is located in Leamington Spa, less than a 5 minute walk from the town centre.
It can be accessed via Milverton Hill to the north and is bounded by the River Leam (and Riverside Walk) to the south.
Edmonscote Athletics Track and Elizabeth Park are located around 800m west of Riverside House and are bounded by the River Leam to the south and an existing residential neighbourhood to the north (accessed from Princes Drive).
Riverside Walk, an unlit public footpath adjacent to the River Leam, links the two sites and connects to longer east-west walking routes in Warwick and Leamington Spa.
The Consultation
We want you to help shape our proposals to deliver the council’s plans for new homes at Riverside House, and the new facilities to be provided within Elizabeth Park.
Before submitting any planning applications, Homes England has created this consultation website to provide the community with information about the plans. There will also be opportunities for you to give feedback on the proposals and your aspirations for the new development, both online and in person.
The initial online consultation opened Monday 13th November 2023 and ran for 3-weeks.
Now that the initial online consultation has closed we have several in-person events where you can come see how we are taking your feedback on board, share your views and learn more about the next steps. The upcoming events include:
